Woodwine (James Gibson, 1972) is a tall bearded iris reaching 38" (97 cm) with midseason bloom. This variety features large, perfectly formed 6" x 8" flowers with a pure white ground, intricately stitched and banded in rich purple madder (1028/2). The standards are highly ruffled and nearly solid in color with a cream base, harmonizing with the fluted, boldly colored band on the falls. The beard is white, tipped with brown and gold. Woodwine is noted for its excellent texture and robust growth habits. Hybridized by James Gibson and introduced in 1973, it received an Honorable Mention in 1977. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
