Winters Smile

Winters Smile (Paul Black, 2016) is a tall bearded iris reaching 35" (89 cm), blooming from early to late season. This award-winning variety features icy white standards edged with the palest violet-blue, complemented by pale grey-white style arms. The falls are also icy white, enhanced by a subtle pale yellow-gold blush over the haft. The beards are based white, with light tan tips in the throat and middle, finishing in white at the end. Heavily ruffled petals and a slight sweet fragrance add to its refined appeal. Winters Smile is a luxuriant sibling from Mid-America, recognized with an Honorable Mention in 2018 and an Award of Merit in 2021. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
