Wing Commander

Wing Commander (George Sutton, 1997) is a truly memorable Tall Bearded iris, standing at 35" (89 cm) and blooming in the late midseason. This cultivar features wistaria blue standards (RHS 92D) delicately infused and veined with princes blue (105A) at the base, complemented by matching wistaria blue style arms. The falls are a rich princes blue with a luminous pale wistaria blue central area, creating a radiant, opalescent effect. Vibrant orange beards, white bases, and dramatic white-tipped orange ends are finished with white arms and a bold 1" to 2" princess blue flounce. Ruffled and laced edges add a refined, couture-worthy touch, while a slight sweet fragrance enhances its appeal.
