Wild (Paul Black, 2011) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its vibrant, painterly color play and dynamic garden presence. Early to midseason blooms showcase luminous apricot orange standards and style arms, contrasted by slightly lighter falls with a white luminata plicata haft, all richly washed and sanded in apricot orange. The outer two-thirds of the falls are dramatically marbled in garnet, finished with a bold 1/2" band of apricot orange. Orange beards and a subtle spicy fragrance add to its captivating appeal.
