Wicked Good

‘Wicked Good’ (Paul Black, 2011) is a tall bearded iris reaching 35" (89 cm) and blooming in midseason. This award-winning variety features light blue standards with a mid slate blue base, blending to lighter blue at the center. The style arms are blue-white with a mid-violet ridge, while the falls display a rich, velvety black-purple hue, narrowly banded in light violet with a dark purple wire rim and subtle light violet veining over the hafts. The beards are a vibrant burnt orange in the throat, transitioning to mid burnt orange and ending in purple, with hairs based in dark purple. ‘Wicked Good’ is noted for its pronounced sweet fragrance. Bred from ‘Sirocco Mist’ x ‘Dinner Talk’, it was introduced by Mid-America in 2012 and has received both the Honorable Mention (2014) and Award of Merit (2016). Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
