Velvet Valentine

Velvet Valentine (Richard Tasco, 2015) is a tall bearded iris reaching 35" (89 cm), blooming from early to late season. This award-winning variety features tightly swirled neyron rose standards and style arms with a delicate light purple blush and hints of orange on the edges. The falls display a rich aster mauve with a subtly lighter edge, complemented by vibrant tangerine beards touched with light pink hairs. Moderately ruffled petals and a slight sweet fragrance add to its appeal. Velvet Valentine is a result of the cross 'Bowled Over' X 'Bon Appétit', and has earned both an Honorable Mention (2017) and Award of Merit (2019). Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
