Tough Customer

Tough Customer (Tom Burseen, 2019) is a remarkable Tall Bearded Iris that delivers a gallery-worthy display in the early to midseason. Towering at 35" (89 cm), this cultivar features sophisticated tan standards richly washed with red-brown, most pronounced at the top for a painterly, refined effect. The style arms mirror this elegant palette, while the falls are saturated in chrysanthemum crimson, boldly framed by wide apricot-buff rims for a vivid, high-contrast presentation. Its ruffled petals are accented by a luminous beard of gold-based hairs tipped in light yellow, adding a radiant touch. With its dynamic coloration, sculptural form, and distinguished pedigree—Seedling 14-350: (seedling 12-375, 'Full Moon Wish' pod parent, x 'Yours Truly') X 'Howla Pena'—Tough Customer is a true centerpiece for any garden, perfect for those seeking a dramatic, conversation-starting bloom.
