Suspicion

Suspicion (Keith Keppel, 1998) is a gallery-worthy Tall Bearded iris that radiates refined elegance and collector appeal. Reaching 38" (97 cm) in midseason, this cultivar features luminous standards in a rare greyed greenish yellow, softly brushed with aster violet at the center for a painterly, opalescent effect. The sculptural falls shimmer in light greenish yellow, with deeper margins and shoulders that create a sophisticated russet green to oil yellow interplay. Accented by vibrant yellow beards and a pronounced sweet fragrance, Suspicion is a pedigree-worthy bloom—recipient of an Honorable Mention in 2001 and reported to rebloom in USDA Zone 8 (Mississippi). With its dynamic color play and memorable presence, Suspicion is a must-have for any serious iris collection.
