Sunkist Frills

Sunkist Frills (Dorothy Palmer, 1986) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its radiant, color-forward blooms. Reaching 34" (86 cm) in midseason, this cultivar features luminous yellow standards above crisp white falls, each edged with a vivid 3/8" inner yellow rim and a fine white outer rim, finished with a bold yellow beard. Its painterly contrast and refined patterning make it a true garden showpiece and a collector-grade addition to any landscape. With a pedigree from Starring Role, Meghan, and Gold Rim, Sunkist Frills is a medal-worthy iris, recognized with a High Commendation (1985) and Honorable Mention (1990). Guardian Garden irises are endangered cultivars preserved through long-term stewardship rather than routine sale.
