Starwoman (Marky Smith, 1997) is an award-winning intermediate bearded iris introduced by Aitkens in 1998. This midseason bloomer reaches 25" (64 cm) and features dramatic blackish royal purple standards with faint lavender-grey markings and strong mauve violet style arms. The falls display a luminous pearl ground, encircled by a bold 1/2" rim and center stripe of deepest black violet, accented with dark violet dashing and stitching. Beards are blue violet with gold tips and a yellow throat, adding further dimension. Starwoman is ruffled, lightly fragrant, and has an impressive pedigree (Chubby Cheeks x Keppel seedling #83-8A).
