Spring Creek

Spring Creek (Elizabeth Rieniets, 2019) is a remarkable SDB iris that commands attention with its painterly, color-forward blooms. Reaching 10" (25 cm) in midseason, this hybridizer’s dream features standards of straw overlaid with roman purple streaks and a vivid violet midrib, complemented by style arms blending straw and violet with roman purple stigmas. The falls are a dramatic maroon over a golden brown ground and edge, streaked with violet and finished with a bold white line and a short cobalt accent at the beard’s end. The beards themselves are a dynamic mix: golden brown in the throat, transitioning to light blue tipped with golden brown, and ending in light blue. With its graphic patterning and rich, saturated tones, Spring Creek is a show garden quality standout—perfect for collectors and anyone seeking a memorable, conversation-starting centerpiece for their landscape.
