Splat

Splat (George Sutton, 2001) is a truly singular Intermediate Bearded iris, celebrated for its painterly blend of pale violet and old gold standards, enriched with dramatic violet veining. The falls are artistically washed violet over white, boldly veined and striped in burgundy, and finished with a striking 1/2" old gold edge. Vivid yellow-orange beards with a red-violet horn add a dynamic, space-age flair. Ruffled and crepe-edged standards, paired with a slight spicy fragrance, make Splat a memorable, conversation-starting addition to any garden. This reblooming, pod-fertile cultivar (from ‘What Again’ x ‘Sky Hooks’) has demonstrated rebloom in California (USDA Zone 9), making it a collector-grade, pedigree-worthy choice for those seeking a color-forward, exhibition-quality iris.
