Spendthrift (Keith Keppel, 2011) is a gallery-worthy Tall Bearded iris that brings a sophisticated, painterly flair to the garden. Reaching 36" (91 cm) and blooming in the early midseason, this cultivar features luminous leghorn buff standards gently shaded with pastel lobelia violet at the center, creating an opalescent effect. The style arms mirror the leghorn buff, while the falls are a dramatic cotinga purple, lightening outward and edged with a refined leghorn buff rim and subtle veining. A soft apricot glow surrounds the ivory heart, and the beards are a vivid golden poppy atop a creamy base, all presented in a polished luminata pattern.
