Sonoma Sun

Sonoma Sun is an Itoh-type hybrid peony offered by Amethyst Creek Farm, with parentage Minnie Shaylor x either Golden Era or High Noon. First bloomed in 1994, this variety features medium-sized flowers that open a rosy yellow and mature to a clear yellow by the second day, accented by small rosy flares and a yellow sheath. The blooms have over twenty-five petals, some pollen, and yellow anthers and filaments. Sonoma Sun grows as a tall, vigorous plant with excellent foliage, long strong stems, and robust laterals.
