Shadows of Night

Shadows of Night (Richard Tasco, 2005) is a tall bearded iris reaching 42" (107 cm), blooming from early to late season. This dramatic variety features deep, dark purple standards and falls with black highlights, complemented by dark purple style arms and a subtle white edge toward the back. The heavily ruffled blooms are accented by dark blue-violet beards and light purple-based foliage, offering a medium sweet fragrance. Bred from Sudden Impact X Paint It Black, Shadows of Night received an Honorable Mention from the American Iris Society in 2008. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
