Sea Power

Sea Power (Keith Keppel, 1999) is an award-winning tall bearded iris reaching 38" (97 cm) and blooming in midseason. This variety features standards in rich cornflower to campanula blue, paling to a delicate light chicory blue at the edges, with matching style arms. The commodore blue falls lighten slightly toward the edge and display a subtle tan haft suffusion. Beards are blue-white at the end with a light lemon hue in the throat. Heavily ruffled petals and a pronounced sweet fragrance add to its appeal. Sea Power is the result of a cross between Yaquina Blue and Jazz Me Blue, and has received numerous accolades, including the American Dykes Medal and Wister Medal. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
