Sassy Tart

Sassy Tart (Richard Ernst, 2007) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its bold, pattern-forward blooms. Reaching 36" (91 cm) and blooming midseason, Sassy Tart features luminous white standards and style arms, while the falls showcase a dramatic cherry brick hue blended into a plicata pattern on a crisp white ground at the beard. Vivid yellow accents highlight the side edges and rim, complemented by vibrant yellow beards. With its graphic coloration and pedigree as a sibling to Ring Around Rosie, this Honorable Mention winner (2010) is a true garden showpiece—perfect for collectors and those seeking a statement-making, exhibition-grade iris.
