Sanskrit (Marky Smith, R. 2009) is a distinguished Intermediate Bearded Iris introduced by Salmon Creek in 2013. This midseason bloomer reaches 24" (61 cm) and is noted for its pronounced spicy fragrance. The standards display a unique chartreuse gold (RHS 16A) rim, blending to a more grey-violet center with a chartreuse midrib, complemented by greyed gold style arms and brighter chartreuse-gold crests. Falls feature pale greyed-chartreuse centers below the beard (160C), with a brighter rim and shoulders (160A), accented by a wash of greyed red-violet and a cream to gold center stripe. The beards transition from smoked orange in the throat to brass and smoked brass at the end. Sanskrit is ruffled and visually dynamic, with no vertical gold veins at the rim. This cultivar was awarded an Honorable Mention in 2017. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Attributes: Edge Trim, Fragrant, Ruffled, Veining Awards: Honorable Mention
