Route Sixty-Six

Route Sixty-Six (Hugh Stout, 2013) is a captivating SDB iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of color and bold patterning. Early to midseason blooms feature light ecru standards with a blush of pink-purple at the base, complemented by very light ecru style arms. The falls are a remarkable purple-pink, dramatically streaked with white from the hafts and beard, creating a high-contrast, graphic effect that covers half the falls and is finished with a subtle ecru band. The beards are a vibrant mix of orange in the throat and middle, shifting to violet-blue at the tips, with orange-based hairs tipped in violet and white. A pronounced spicy fragrance adds to its sensory appeal.
