Riveting

‘Riveting’ (Paul Black, 2009) is a showy SDB iris reaching 15" (38 cm) and blooming in the late midseason. This award-winning variety features crisp white standards and style arms, while the falls are dramatically marked with a dark inky blue-purple blended spot covering most of the petal, accented by wide, short white darts along the beard and a unique grey olive heart at the haft. The light yellow beards transition to white at the tips, and the blooms are beautifully ruffled with a pronounced spicy fragrance. Bred from ‘Ajax the Less’ x ‘Big Blue Eyes’, ‘Riveting’ has earned multiple accolades, including an Honorable Mention (2011), Award of Merit (2013), and Favorite Guest (2014).
