Rare Treat

Rare Treat (Schreiner, 1987) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its crisp, ruffled white petals, each edged by a precise 1/4" band of cornflower blue. This painterly plicata pattern is further enhanced by a vivid blue beard, creating a high-contrast, gallery-worthy effect in the garden. Standing at 34" (86 cm) and blooming early to midseason, Rare Treat is a medal-worthy, exhibition-grade selection from Schreiner’s renowned breeding program, honored with both the AIS Honorable Mention (1989) and Award of Merit (1992). Its pedigree—Blue Staccato crossed with a Quiet Times x Socialite seedling—ensures a bloom of pedigree-worthy distinction and undeniable presence. A true landscape centerpiece for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
