Protocol

Protocol (Keith Keppel, 1996) is an Intermediate Bearded iris reaching 23" (58 cm) and blooming in the early midseason. This award-winning variety features elegant white standards, subtly flushed with pinard yellow at the center, and white style arms. The falls are a rich, deeper yellow than dandelion, paling slightly at the edges, with a vibrant deep chrome yellow midsection and cadmium yellow in the throat. White-tipped beards add contrast, and a slight fragrance enhances its garden appeal. Protocol is the result of a cross between Over Easy and Amber Snow, and has received multiple honors, including the Honorable Mention (1998), Walther Cup (1998), Award of Merit (2000), and the prestigious Sass Medal (2002).
