Private Eye

Private Eye (Thomas Johnson, 2010) is a tall bearded iris reaching 35" (89 cm) with early midseason bloom. This variety features palest orchid-white standards infused with deeper tones at the base, complemented by mango flesh style arms striped with slate violet. The falls are a plush, dark burgundy-black, washed with dark chocolate, and finished with dark brown-black beards. Bushy growth and a slight fragrance add to its appeal. Private Eye is a sibling of Guatemala crossed with Starring, introduced by Mid-America in 2010 and awarded Honorable Mention in 2012. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
