Prego

‘Prego’ (Thomas Johnson, 2018) is a standout SDB iris reaching 10" (25 cm) and blooming early in the season. This variety features heavily ruffled standards and falls in a harmonious rosy purple, accented by a prominent deep burgundy spot on the falls. The beards display violet bases with russet tips, adding further interest, and a slight fragrance enhances its appeal. Bred from a cross of ‘Golden Ring’ sibling x ‘Capiche’ seedlings, ‘Prego’ was introduced by Mid-America in 2018 and earned an Honorable Mention from the AIS in 2022. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
