Prairie Plum

Prairie Plum (LeRoy Meininger, 2001) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of color and dramatic patterning. Reaching 34" (86 cm) and blooming midseason, this cultivar features dusty plum standards infused with apricot, accented by a dark plum midrib and a narrow, fringed apricot border. Plum style arms and apricot falls are set off by an irregular, heavily stitched 3/8" plum border and a small, purple-dotted white area surrounding a vivid orange-red beard. With its bold, color-forward design and memorable presence, Prairie Plum is a collector-grade addition to any garden, bred from Gigolo x (Gigolo x Lingering Love).
