Prague

Prague (Thomas Johnson, 2004) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36" (91 cm), introduced by Mid-America in 2005. This award-winning variety features medium peach standards with a red plum-infused midrib and medium apricot style arms. The velvety falls are a deep, dark burgundy that softens toward the edge, finished with a narrow rosy-mauve rim. Dark purple beards are tipped with rich henna-brown, adding depth to the bloom. Prague is ruffled, lightly laced, and offers a slight spicy fragrance. Blooming in midseason, it is a cross between Naples and Ocelot. Recognized for its exceptional qualities, Prague received an Honorable Mention in 2007 and an Award of Merit in 2009. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
