Powerhouse

Powerhouse (Joseph Ghio, 2019) is a dazzling Tall Bearded iris that lives up to its name with a bold, gallery-worthy presence. Reaching 32" (81 cm) and blooming in the late midseason, this cultivar features luminous metallic rose-orchid standards and style arms, with matching falls that lighten elegantly at the hafts and center. Vivid tangerine beards tipped in violet add a dynamic, painterly accent to each bloom. With sculptural ruffles and a refined pedigree—descended from 'Jazz Band', 'Gitano', and 'Soul Mate'—Powerhouse is a collector-grade, exhibition-ready showpiece. Honored with an AIS Honorable Mention in 2022, it’s a memorable addition for any garden connoisseur. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Awards: Honorable Mention
