‘Planet Hollywood’ (Lesley Painter, 2012) is a tall bearded iris reaching 34" (86 cm), introduced by Napa Country in 2013. This early to late bloomer features grape-purple standards and style arms softly blended with gold, while the falls display a yellow-cream to cream ground accented by a bold, dark grape-purple plicata edge and center line. The gold beards are tipped with gold, with hairs based in white and purple, adding further depth to the flower’s intricate coloration. ‘Planet Hollywood’ offers a slight spicy fragrance and is a recipient of the AIS Honorable Mention in 2017.
