Padded Shoulders

Padded Shoulders (Paul Black, 2005) is a tall bearded iris reaching 41" (104 cm) and blooming in the late midseason. This award-winning variety features elegant white standards with a light peach center and veins extending into the upper two-thirds, complemented by white style arms with apricot peach ridges and edges. The falls are white with wide, extended apricot-peach hafts, a paler peach band around the lower half, and short white veins over the haft. The reverse is apricot peach, and the bright orange beards add a vivid accent. Notably ruffled and possessing a pronounced sweet fragrance, Padded Shoulders is a result of a cross between Tropical Magic and a Blush Of Color x Taunt seedling. Recognized with an Honorable Mention in 2008 and an Award of Merit in 2010, this iris is available from Amethyst Creek Farm.
