Overcast (Keith Keppel, 2005) is a remarkable SDB iris that commands attention with its painterly blend of color and refined form. Reaching 14" (36 cm) and blooming midseason, Overcast features light ecru-tan standards softly flushed with lavender, complemented by lavender style arms and pineapple-hued crests. The falls are a luminous lavender blue, shading to chartreuse yellow at the edge with deeper hafts and intricate hazel and white reticulations. Cream beards tipped with light yellow and bronze in the throat add a final touch of sophistication.
