Ordination (Jim Hedgecock, 2012) is a remarkable tall bearded iris that commands attention with its painterly color contrasts and sculptural form. Midseason blooms feature pale maroon standards infused with white and edged in wide, pale tan rims, while the falls are a luminous white framed by dark maroon dotted rims and accented with brown striations at the hafts. The beards are a dynamic burnt orange, ending in white with maroon tips, all set off by ruffled petals for a gallery-worthy effect.
