Orbison (Frederick Kerr, 2008) is a commanding tall bearded iris that stands at 40" (102 cm), introduced by Rainbow Acres in 2009. This late midseason bloom is instantly memorable for its dramatic, deep blue-black style arms and falls, accented by crisp white lines at the haft that extend just beyond a golden yellow beard. The flat form and slight musky fragrance add to its sophisticated, gallery-worthy appeal. With parentage from Diabolique and a World Tour x Kathleen Kay Nelson seedling, Orbison is a medal-worthy, field-stopping iris that earned an Honorable Mention in 2013.
