Only the Shadow Knows

Only the Shadow Knows (Paul Black, 2020) is a tall bearded iris reaching 33" (84 cm), blooming from midseason to late. This variety features dark slate-purple standards that blend into light grey and tan bands, with a vibrant mid-purple interior. The style arms are a light brassy violet, accented by a light olive edge and ridge. Falls are eggshell white, highlighted by a wide pale butter band that deepens toward the edge and is finished with a gilt gold rim. The beards transition from dark orange in the throat to mid orange and end in yellow-gold. Notably, this iris offers a pronounced sweet fragrance.
