Offspring

Offspring (Larry Lauer, 2017) is a tall bearded iris introduced by Lauer’s Flowers in 2018, now available at Amethyst Creek Farm. This midseason bloomer reaches 35" (89 cm) and features elegant white standards edged and based in soft buttercup yellow (RHS 16C), with matching style arms. The falls display a vivid chrome yellow (15C) base, dramatically accented by ruby red (59A) lines that finish in a solid rim. Beards are a bold nasturtium orange (25B), and the blooms are noted for their pronounced sweet fragrance. Offspring is a cross between Expect Wonders and Wild Angel, and has received an Honorable Mention in 2021. According to the 2022 Rebloom Checklist, it has demonstrated reblooming performance in California (USDA Zone 9).
