Norman

‘Norman’ (Donald Spoon, 2011) is a gallery-worthy Tall Bearded iris that delivers extraordinary visual impact in the garden. Reaching 36" (91 cm) and blooming midseason, this cultivar features luminous, bright yellow standards (RHS 12B) that deepen to gold at the base, complemented by style arms with deeper yellow midribs, old gold edges, and refined white stigmatic lips. The falls are a dramatic, saturated blood-red, streaked with cardinal and deep red-purple, highlighted by maroon veining at the hafts and a light yellow sunburst encircling solid orange beards. Closed standards and arched, ruffled, lightly laced falls create a sculptural, dynamic silhouette. With a slight sweet fragrance and 7-9 buds per stalk, ‘Norman’ is a collector-grade, pedigree-worthy bloom that stands out as a true centerpiece in any landscape. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
