Minidragon

‘Minidragon’ (Marky Smith, 1996) is a standout SDB iris reaching 13" (33 cm), introduced by Aitken’s Salmon Creek in 1998. This midseason bloomer features silky dark port wine standards (RHS 187A), old gold style arms with a red violet midrib, and falls of deep black burgundy, even darker than the standards. The vivid tangerine beards (32A) add a bold accent, while lightly ruffled petals and a slight sweet fragrance enhance its appeal. ‘Minidragon’ is recognized for its award-winning performance, including the Cook-Douglas Medal (2004), and has reported rebloom in the Netherlands.
