Ming

Ming is an Intermediate Bearded iris introduced by Marky Smith in 1997 and offered by Amethyst Creek Farm. This award-winning variety reaches 25" (64 cm) and blooms in midseason, displaying clear dresden yellow standards with a green midrib and matching yellow style arms. The falls feature dresden yellow shoulders with a slightly lighter rim, complemented by a small cream white center and median stripe. Cream white beards transition to a strong yellow in the throat, and the lightly ruffled blooms are noted for their pronounced sweet fragrance. Ming is the pollen parent of Spirit World and has received multiple honors, including the Honorable Mention (2000), Award of Merit (2004), and the prestigious Sass Medal (2008).
