Meticulous

Meticulous (Paul Black, 2018) is a sophisticated Standard Dwarf Bearded iris reaching 14" (36 cm), blooming from midseason to late. This variety features mid-dark charcoal-wine standards with prominent black ribbing and lines, complemented by dark ruby style arms edged in brown-gold. The falls are deep charcoal-wine with a wide, mid-dark band and a mid-wine haft adorned with wine-black veining. Beards transition from gold-brown in the throat to old gold in the middle, finishing with light lilac tips. Meticulous offers a slight musky fragrance and is recognized for its unique, dramatic coloration and refined patterning. Honored with an AIS Honorable Mention in 2023.
