Mariposa Wizard

Mariposa Wizard (Richard Tasco, 2003) is an intermediate bearded iris reaching 22" (56 cm), notable for its early to midseason bloom and reliable reblooming habit. This variety features wisteria blue standards with a darker midrib base and matching style arms, complemented by dark violet falls with a subtle reddish influence. The medium blue violet beards are accented with gold in the throat, and the blooms are attractively ruffled with a slight musky fragrance. Bred from Mariposa Skies x Wizards Return, Mariposa Wizard has earned both an Honorable Mention (2006) and an Award of Merit (2008) from the American Iris Society. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
