Mad About Saffron

Mad About Saffron (Nancy Price, 2016) is a truly extraordinary Tall Bearded Iris, celebrated for its gallery-worthy presence and pedigree. Reaching an impressive 39"-42" (99-107 cm) in height, this midseason novelty iris captivates with pristine white standards set above luminous yellow falls. The falls are enhanced by a crisp white ray pattern around the beards and a precise ¹⁄₈˝ white rim, creating a painterly, high-contrast effect. The beards themselves are a dynamic blend—orange in the throat, shifting to yellow in the middle and at the tips, with yellow horns adding a final flourish. Bred from Mesmerizer X Dreambville, Mad About Saffron is a collector-grade, Honorable Mention winner (2019) that brings a bold, sculptural statement to any garden. A true conversation piece for enthusiasts and a field-stopping centerpiece for curated landscapes.
