Low To The Ground

Low To The Ground (Paul Black, 2022) is a remarkable miniature dwarf bearded iris that commands attention with its luminous, light cornflower blue standards and painterly falls, accented by a white throat and mid green-blue veining. The style arms glow in palest violet, crowned with a light cornflower blue ridge and crest, while the beard transitions from white-based hairs to a vivid mid-orange in the throat, creating a captivating focal point. This midseason to late-blooming seedling (AA188A) reaches a compact 7" (18 cm), making it a garden-showpiece for borders or rock gardens. A slight sweet fragrance adds to its appeal. Bred from ‘Crank It Up’ X ‘Kisses’ and introduced by Mid-America in 2022, Low To The Ground is a collector-grade, field-stopping addition for any iris enthusiast seeking a singular, photogenic bloom with undeniable presence.
