Lightning Bolt

Lightning Bolt (Joseph Ghio, 1992) is a commanding tall bearded iris that electrifies the garden with its vivid, high-contrast color play. This remarkable cultivar stands at 35" (89 cm) and delivers a dynamic bloom season, flowering early, midseason, and late. The standards glow in a rich rose wine, while the falls dazzle in an electric blue, seamlessly blending to rose wine at the edges for a painterly, color-forward effect. Accented by bold red beards, Lightning Bolt is a true garden showpiece—memorable, dramatic, and field-stopping. With a prestigious pedigree and Honorable Mention from the AIS in 1995, this iris is a collector-grade addition for those seeking a statement-making, exhibition-ready bloom. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Attributes: Edge Trim, Historic Awards: Honorable Mention
