Laughing Matter

Laughing Matter (Thomas Johnson, 2025) is a gallery-worthy Tall Bearded iris that delivers a dazzling display of color and artistry to the early midseason garden. Towering at 37" (94 cm), this cultivar features creamy lavender standards dramatically infused with deep golden yellow along the midrib, complemented by radiant golden yellow style arms. The falls are a spectacle: rich gold flanks the vivid yellow-orange beard, with a bold violet flash below, a russet red wash, and a luminous lavender band at the edge. With its sculptural form and vibrant, painterly palette, Laughing Matter is a memorable, pedigree-worthy centerpiece—perfect for collectors and anyone seeking a truly remarkable bloom for their landscape. Hybridized by Thomas Johnson and introduced in 2025.
