Larry's Blue

Larry’s Blue (Donald Spoon, 2015) is a captivating SDB iris that brings a refined, painterly elegance to the midseason garden. Reaching 12" (30 cm), this memorable variety features luminous french blue standards (RHS 100D) with deeper veining and subtle greyed-green basal claws, closed and domed for a sculptural effect. The style arms echo the blue, highlighted by darker midribs and delicate lavender-pink edges, while the flared falls continue the rich blue theme. Creamy white beards tipped with yellow-orange add a vibrant focal point. With its ruffled form and pedigree from ‘Riverbuds’ x ‘Canadian Kisses’, Larry’s Blue is a showpiece bloom—vivid, sophisticated, and sure to be a centerpiece in any border or bed. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm. Attributes: Edge Trim, Novelty, Ruffled, Space Age, Veining
