Jillaroo

Jillaroo (Allan Ensminger, 1983) is a charming Standard Dwarf Bearded iris introduced by Varigay Gardens in 1984. This late midseason bloomer reaches 13" (33 cm) in height and features standards in a clear lobelia blue (HCC 41/1), contrasted by brown falls and a matching lobelia blue beard. Bred from a complex lineage involving Jungle Shadows, I. pumila, and other notable seedlings, Jillaroo is recognized for its unique color combination and refined form. It has received both the Honorable Mention (1987) and Award of Merit (1992) from the American Iris Society. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
