Island Breeze

Island Breeze (Richard Tasco, 2012) is a tall bearded iris reaching 40" (102 cm) and blooming in midseason. This elegant variety features cold white standards with a delicate blue-violet blush at the base of the midrib, complemented by fringed cold white style arms with a hint of light blue along the sides. The falls display a refined wisteria blue (RHS 92A), accented by beards that are white at the base with cadmium orange tips in the throat and middle, fading to a lighter wisteria blue at the ends. Moderate ruffling and a subtle musky fragrance add to its appeal. Island Breeze is a sibling to Subtle Beauty and was introduced by Superstition in 2012. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
