Insomnia

Insomnia (Hugh Stout, 2020) is a tall bearded iris reaching 36" (91 cm), blooming early to midseason. This variety features grape-purple standards with a tyrian purple base, complemented by matching style arms. The falls mirror the standards, deepening to a darker raisin purple in the upper third, and are accented by large, ruffled petals. The beards are amethyst violet at the base with mango yellow tips, adding a vivid contrast. Notable for its pronounced sweet fragrance, Insomnia is a seedling from Tom Burseen (Thunder Down Under X Plum Full), introduced by Stout Gardens in 2020. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
