Hungarian Rhapsody

Hungarian Rhapsody (Paul Black, 2020) is a gallery-worthy Intermediate Bearded iris that delivers a truly unforgettable visual experience. This extraordinary cultivar features mid-purple standards delicately edged in light violet, complemented by luminous style arms in soft peach with a refined cream border. The falls are a dramatic canvas of deep, saturated purple, adorned with a painterly luminata patch in peach to cream, and cream hafts intricately sanded and mottled with light purple, punctuated by random white flecks and streaks for a dynamic, graphic effect. Bold mid-orange beards provide a vivid accent, while a subtle musky fragrance adds an extra layer of allure. Reaching 24" (61 cm) and blooming from early to late season, Hungarian Rhapsody is a medal-winning, collector-grade showpiece with a prestigious pedigree from 'House of Cards' and 'Jolly'. Honored with an Honorable Mention in 2022 and an Award of Merit in 2025, this iris is a conversation-starting centerpiece for any landscape. No rebloom reported. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
