Hugs

Hugs (Paul Black, R. 2004) is a standout SDB iris introduced in 2006, reaching 13" (33 cm) and blooming midseason. This variety features ruffled white standards accented by wide, medium purple plicata bands and a line up the midrib, with the center displaying several medium purple veins and dots. The style arms are a slightly deeper blue-purple. The round white falls are edged with a wide, medium plum plicata haft that transitions to a medium purple plicata margin, highlighted by plicata dots inside the margin and a short purple dart at the end of the beard. The beards are particularly eye-catching, with a white base tipped in vivid neon orange. Hugs also offers a slight spicy fragrance.
