Honeycomb (Larry Lauer, 2006) is a tall bearded iris reaching 34" (86 cm) and blooming in the early midseason. This award-winning variety features butterscotch standards with a subtle peachy cast along the midrib, fading to peachy yellow and edged with a delicate white rim. The style arms are cream with a peachy yellow crest, while the falls display a crisp white base surrounded by a wide orange buff rim and darker shoulders. Vibrant fire red beards tipped with yellow add a bold accent. Honeycomb is notable for its ruffled form and pronounced spicy fragrance. Bred from Crusader Rabbit x Fashion Designer, it has received both the Honorable Mention (2008) and Award of Merit (2012) from the American Iris Society. Available at Amethyst Creek Farm.
